Ogunquit Maine Wedding Photographer Jenna Doughtry
It was a hot summer day when these two high school sweethearts became husband and wife. The coastal town of Ogunquit was the location for this Maine wedding on Saturday, August 6. With beautiful traditional Maine seaside decor and details with a personalized touch it was a lovely day. The wedding day began with prep time at the Meadowmere Resort and the bride and her bridesmaids traveled to the ceremony in classic Southern Maine style on a Trolley by Ogunquit Trolley. Many of my wedding couples use their transportation services and I have to tell you they do an excellent job!
The wedding ceremony was held at The Lookout in Ogunquit, Maine. This hotel sits atop the bluffs that sit between Marginal Way and Ogunquit Beach in Southern Maine. While the hotel appears to have many new elements there is an old time vibe here, like if you listen closely in the lobby you can hear tourists in the 1950s running off to their day at the beach. Just before the wedding ceremony the bride and groom met blindly in the hotel lobby for a quick shot to toast to their pending nuptials, talk about suspense! So fun! Then, in front of family and friends, Jennifer and Nate exchanged personally written wedding vows mixed with some humor and a deep sense of respect and love for each other. They have a long history together and you can tell that they have waited for this day to happen. The beautiful flowers the bride and the bridesmaids carried were by Downeast Flowers. It’s always a pleasure to photograph their elegant floral arrangements.
The wedding reception was held at Jonathan’s Ogunquit. I’ve photographed several weddings at Jonathan’s and they provide exceptional service. And the food? YUM! After some toasts by the Maid of Honor, The Best Man and the Bride’s brother there was a birthday cake presented to the bride’s other brother. Double the celebration! There was certainly a lot of love and genuine happiness for this couple in that room. DJ Bob Wilson packed the dance floor and the party began! A stage diving groom, a Mick Jagger dance off and break dancing?! No wonder the dance floor came apart, literally. Twice. Truly a blast to photograph this wedding!
Love, laughter and celebration, all the key elements for a memorable wedding day. Here are a few highlights…
